First, if you have a Forester, Legacy, or Outback, make sure you've bought the additional OEM Subaru bracket (23791AA002) as the factory - installed one won't work. Then, remove your old plastic alternator cover. Take the new GrimmSpeed cover and use the slotted mounting features to attach it in place. The dimples can help you drill holes for cable mounts if needed. For maintenance, it has a durable DuPont powdercoat, so a simple wipe - down with a clean cloth should keep it looking good. Avoid using abrasive cleaners as they might damage the finish. If you notice any signs of corrosion on the anodized aluminum mounts over time, it's a good idea to check and clean them carefully.
