If your alignment is off at first, you can use the soapy water to slide the overlay into place. After finding the right spot, use your fingers to push out all the water and air. Keep a hair dryer or heat gun nearby to speed up drying, but use light heat to avoid damaging the material.

As for maintenance, keep the overlay clean by gently wiping it with a soft cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals as they can cause damage.
