Product Information

Upgrade your Subaru with the GrimmSpeed 3mm Phenolic Thermal Spacer! This spacer fits 2002 - 2014 WRX, 2004 - 2021 STI, 2005 - 2009 Legacy GT, and 2004 - 2013 Forester XT models. Cooler intake air means more horsepower. By raising the intake manifold off the engine, these spacers reduce heat transfer from the engine to the intake manifold, cutting down on temperature and heat soak. Made from a unique phenolic material (not like the cheap cutting - board stuff), they ensure cooler and denser intake air. Denser air mixes better with fuel, increasing efficiency. For every 5° drop in air temperature, you get a 1% power boost. They're a direct bolt - on, made in the USA, and sold as a pair. It's recommended to use one OEM intake manifold gasket #14035AA421 on each side of these spacers, which you can buy separately.

Using the GrimmSpeed 3mm Phenolic Thermal Spacer is easy. First, make sure your engine is cool. Then, remove the old intake manifold if necessary. Take your new spacers (sold as a pair) and bolt them directly onto the appropriate spots. It's a direct bolt - on, so you don't need to do any complex modifications. Remember to use one OEM intake manifold gasket #14035AA421 on each side of the spacers; you can buy these gaskets separately. As for maintenance, there's not much to do. Just keep an eye on the bolts to make sure they're tight, and check for any signs of heat damage over time. If you notice any issues, you can replace the spacers. This simple upgrade can give your Subaru a power boost and better efficiency.
