Product Information

Fitment Information: This high - performance race disc fits 2006 - 2021 Subaru WRX, 2004 - 2021 Subaru STI, 2005 - 2012 Subaru Legacy GT, 2005 - 2009 Subaru Outback XT, and 2006 - 2008 Subaru Forester XT. Note: It's a 240mm upgrade and requires an ACT 240mm pressure plate and flywheel. Features: The ACT 4 - Puck Rigid Race Disc (4240018) is crafted from high - quality ceramic friction materials. It offers a harsher engagement but enables lightning - fast shifting. With top - grade rivets, it's securely fastened for maximum strength. This 4 - pad rigid race disc is ideal for smaller engines with smaller disc sizes. Feel: It has an aggressive engagement, provides the quickest shifts, and may increase gear rattle. Recommended Use: Exclusively recommended for race use. ACT Difference: It has high burst strength and can hold 28% more torque than typical organic materials. FAQ: Can an ACT Race puck - style disc be used for daily driving? ACT's race discs are very aggressive. Their harsh engagement can cause judder and noise when starting from a stop. They're only for professional race settings, not for street use. ACT suggests using an organic disc on the street for a smoother ride and longer - lasting performance. When should a clutch disc be replaced? Most new discs are 0.312 - 0.315 inches (7.93 - 8.00mm) thick, and fully worn ones are 0.275 inches (7.00mm) or less. Some applications start at 0.332 - 0.335 inches (8.43 - 8.50mm) and should be replaced below 0.295 inches (7.50mm). Measure with a micrometer. For puck discs, measure as is, and for organic street discs, compress the engagement cushion. Replace the disc if the lining rivets touch the flywheel or pressure plate. Using a disc outside the pressure - plate's designed thickness range can lead to poor results.

How to Use: This ACT 4 - Puck Rigid Race Disc is specifically for racing. Install it along with an ACT 240mm pressure plate and flywheel as it's a 240mm upgrade. When you shift gears, expect an aggressive engagement and really fast shifts, but also some extra gear rattle. Note that it's not suitable for daily street driving because of the harsh engagement which can cause discomfort when starting from a stop. Maintenance Tips: Regularly check the thickness of the clutch disc. Use a micrometer to measure it. For most applications, replace the disc when it reaches 0.275 inches (7.00mm) or less. For some specific models, replace it below 0.295 inches (7.50mm). Also, keep an eye on the lining rivets. If they touch the flywheel or pressure plate, it's time to get a new disc. Always make sure to use a disc within the working thickness range designed for the pressure plate to ensure good performance.
