Product Information
Part #: 632300CE - 4. Our new Turbo Tuff lineup for EJ25 engines makes Manley, the top aftermarket Subaru piston company, even better. By using design improvements from our 'Formula - Won' piston forging, we've crafted the ideal Subaru piston. It can handle high - boost and high - stress situations, yet runs smoothly and trouble - free for daily driving. Like all Manley Subaru pistons, these are made of 2618 alloy, feature an offset wrist pin design, have skirt coating, and come with a standard 2.500' x .180' wall premium chrome moly wrist pin (P/N 42346). You can also upgrade to 9310 alloy .210' wall pins. Order the EXTREME DUTY part number in the column below, and you'll get pistons with 9310 pins (P/N 42546). Each set includes premium steel top rings, Napier style second rings, and higher tension oil rings for great oil control, along with round wire locks. For mildly boosted engines, the recommended clearance is .003', and for highly boosted ones, it's .0035', measured .850' (79/83mm Strokes) and 1.100' (75mm Stroke) from the bottom of the oil ring groove. Manley Subaru EJ257 pistons now have Napier style second rings and higher tension oil rings (by Total Seal) for excellent oil control.
Using these Manley pistons is straightforward. First, make sure to choose the right part number based on your engine's requirements. If you need heavy - duty performance, go for the EXTREME DUTY part. When installing, pay close attention to the recommended clearance. For mildly boosted engines, set it at .003', and for highly boosted ones, use .0035'. You can measure this distance as described in the product description. As for maintenance, keep an eye on the oil control. The included high - quality rings are designed to manage oil well, but regular oil checks are still important. If you decide to upgrade the wrist pins, make sure to follow the proper installation procedures. Overall, with these pistons, you can expect reliable performance in both high - stress and daily driving scenarios.
