Subtle Solutions presents a top - notch chimney duct paired with a turbo heat shield, crafted specifically for the 2004 - 2008 Subaru Forester XT featuring an STI TMIC (it may also fit aftermarket intercoolers). Using the stock intercooler mounting bracket and holes, this 304 stainless - steel product is a game - changer. It provides an 'chimney' outlet for hot air to escape through your factory or aftermarket hoodscoop splitter vents, effectively eliminating heat soak on your intercooler. While you're driving, cooler air travels through the chimney, pushing warmer air out of the engine bay and towards the ground. All our products, including this one, are proudly made in the USA! Product specs: CAD - designed, CNC - pressed, CNC - laser cut, made of 304 stainless steel with stainless - steel hardware and a rubber gasket (similar to a splitter). It's designed to fit a subtle hoodscoop splitter (both stock XT and aftermarket), (04 - 07) STI TMIC (and some aftermarket top - mount intercoolers), (04 - 08) Forester hood (and some aftermarket hoods), and (04 - 08) Forester stock downpipe heatshield (along with some aftermarket turbo heatshields), working just like the SPT shield. Package includes a brushed stainless - steel heat shield, brushed stainless - steel chimney duct lower and upper box sections, stainless mounting hardware, a rubber gasket for the top of the chimney box, and SUBTLE STICKERS!
Using this product is easy. First, make sure you have the stock intercooler mounting bracket and holes available as the product is designed to fit with them. Then, install the stainless - steel heat shield, lower and upper box sections of the chimney duct using the provided stainless mounting hardware. Attach the rubber gasket to the top portion of the chimney box. It should fit well with your Subaru Forester XT's factory or aftermarket hoodscoop splitter vents, STI TMIC, and other components as described. When driving, the product will do its job of pushing hot air out of the engine bay. As for maintenance, periodically check the mounting hardware to ensure it's tight. Wipe down the stainless - steel parts with a soft cloth to keep them looking good. Since it's made in the USA with high - quality 304 stainless steel, it should last a long time. Just avoid using abrasive cleaners on the brushed finish as it may damage the appearance.
