Subtle Solutions presents this top - notch chimney duct with a turbo heat shield crafted for the Subaru Forester XT (2004 - 2008) that comes with a STI TMIC and may also fit aftermarket intercoolers. Made from 304 stainless steel, it uses the stock intercooler mounting bracket and holes. This product creates an 'chimney' outlet for hot air to escape through your factory or aftermarket hoodscoop splitter vents, effectively reducing heat soak on your intercooler. When you're driving, cooler air travels through the chimney, pushing warmer air out of the engine bay and towards the ground. All our products, including this one, are proudly made in the USA! Using this product is a breeze. First, make sure your Subaru Forester XT is turned off and cooled down. You can then use the included stainless - steel mounting hardware to attach the chimney duct to the stock intercooler mounting bracket and holes. Ensure that the red lower and upper box sections of the chimney duct are properly connected. The rubber gasket on the top portion of the chimney box should be firmly in place to prevent any air leakage. When it comes to maintenance, it's a good idea to check the mounting hardware regularly to make sure it's tight. You can also clean the stainless - steel parts with a mild soap and water solution to keep them looking good. Just avoid using any harsh chemicals that could damage the finish. If you notice any signs of wear or damage, such as cracks in the rubber gasket or bent parts, it's best to replace them right away to keep your product working at its best.
