Product Information

ACL's main bearings are crafted from a softer metal, protecting your crank and engine block from wear. A thin oil layer lubricates the bearings - crank connection, enabling the crank to 'float' and minimizing wear. Proper support from these bearings is essential to prevent oscillations and damage to the crankshaft and other parts as the engine gets out of balance. Bearings with extra oil clearance can handle high - horsepower engines better but may experience more wear at startup. We suggest these be bought by pros only. Note that Subaru main bearings are for either #5 or #3 journal bearing positions. This position isn't related to VIN or year, and you must know it before buying. Engine internals can't be exchanged or returned, so be sure of your needs.

Using these ACL main bearings is straightforward. First, make sure you know the correct journal bearing position (#5 or #3) for your Subaru engine. Once you've installed them, the bearings will work to protect your crank and engine block. They'll use a thin layer of oil to keep the crank moving smoothly. However, be aware that if you have a high - horsepower engine, the bearings with extra oil clearance can handle the stress well, but they may wear out a bit more during startup. For maintenance, regularly check the oil level and quality, as the oil is crucial for the proper functioning of the bearings. Also, if you notice any unusual noises or vibrations from the engine, it's a good idea to have the bearings inspected. Remember, these are engine internals, so it's best to have an experienced professional handle the installation and any related work.
