Using this alternator cover is easy. First, if your vehicle requires the Subaru OEM STI Power Steering Belt Cover Bracket, you can buy it separately. Before installing the hardware that comes with the alternator cover, remove the rubber bushing on the bracket. Then, install the tall spacer (or standoff) with the bolt/washer through the stock Subaru oem bracket attached to the passenger - side power steering pump. On the alternator (driver side), use the Subaru OEM STI bracket to install the shorter spacer and hardware with the clip nut. As for maintenance, keep it clean with a mild soap and water solution. Avoid using harsh chemicals as they may damage the powder - coated finish. Regularly check the bolts and washers to ensure they're tight and there's no sign of corrosion.
