Crafted from 6061 aluminum, it features a powerful neodymium magnet. This magnet catches metal debris that your oil filter might overlook, stopping it from flowing through the engine and causing damage to bearings and other crucial parts. Each plug comes with an oil seal and washer to prevent leaks. Thread Pitch: M20 x 1.5. FITMENT: Fits Subaru Legacy GT (2005 - 2009), Subaru STI (2004 - 2021), and Subaru WRX (2002 - 2014). Note: THIS WILL NOT FIT THE 2015+ WRX. Around late 2010, Subaru started using a new smaller M16X1.5X12 engine drain plug on some models. If you need a 14mm wrench to remove the plug, your car needs the M16 plug.

Using your Mishimoto magnetic drain plug is easy. First, make sure your engine is cool to avoid burns. Locate the existing drain plug under your engine and use the appropriate wrench to remove it. Place an oil pan below to catch the draining oil. Once the old plug is out, clean the area around the drain hole. Then, carefully install the new Mishimoto drain plug. Tighten it securely but don't over - tighten to prevent damage. As for maintenance, check the magnet regularly for collected metal debris. You can clean it with a cloth when you change your oil. Remember, this plug won't fit 2015+ WRX models. If your Subaru uses a 14mm wrench for the drain plug, it needs the M16 plug instead.
