Product Information

Fitment: This GrimmSpeed 8mm phenolic thermal spacer fits 2002 - 2014 Subaru WRX, 2004 - 2021 Subaru STI, 2005 - 2009 Subaru Legacy GT, and 2004 - 2013 Subaru Forester XT. Features: Cooler intake air means more horsepower. By using GrimmSpeed's 3x thick phenolic intake - manifold - to - engine thermal spacers, you can raise the intake manifold off the engine. These spacers greatly cut down heat transfer from the engine to the intake manifold, reducing temperature and heat soak. It's made of a unique phenolic material, not like cheap cutting - board stuff. Cooler intake air is denser, leading to more power and better fuel - air mixing for higher efficiency. For every 5° drop in air temperature, you get a 1% power boost. It's a direct bolt - on, made in the USA, and sold as a pair. We recommend using one OEM intake manifold gasket #14035AA421 on each side, available for separate purchase.

Using the GrimmSpeed 8mm phenolic thermal spacer is easy. First, make sure your car is one of the models it fits, like the 2002 - 2014 Subaru WRX or 2004 - 2021 Subaru STI. It's a direct bolt - on, so you can just install it in place. Don't forget to use an OEM intake manifold gasket #14035AA421 on each side, which you need to buy separately. As for maintenance, there's not much to do. Just check it regularly to make sure it's still in good condition and the bolts are tight. If you notice any signs of wear or looseness, it might be time to replace it. And always remember, the cooler intake air it helps create will keep your engine running better and more efficiently.
