Product Information

GFB presents the new STi 6 - speed Short Shift Basic Kit (part # 4003). It's a super - affordable alternative to STi's aftermarket shifter. This kit is based on the well - loved GFB STi short shifter (part # 4002). The #4002 shifter has a gear lever and a linkage clamp, allowing the widest shift - throw adjustment in the market. The Basic kit uses the adjustable gear lever from the 4002 kit but skips the linkage clamp. So, it offers shift throw adjustment, though in a smaller range. The great thing is, you can easily upgrade it to the 4002 kit by adding the linkage clamp. Some users find the shorter settings of the full 4002 kit too extreme, especially on MY06 - 08 models. In such cases, the Basic kit gives the same result at a lower cost. And if you later want a shorter shift, just buy the linkage clamp separately to upgrade. It's a win - win situation!

Using your Go Fast Bits Basic Short Throw Shifter is straightforward. Just install the adjustable gear lever as per the instructions, and you're ready to enjoy a more precise shift. When you start using it, you might notice a difference in the shift feel compared to the factory shifter. If you later decide to upgrade to the full 4002 kit, simply purchase the linkage clamp and add it to your existing setup. As for maintenance, keep the shifter clean and lubricated regularly. Avoid using harsh chemicals that could damage the parts. Also, if you notice any unusual noises or difficulty in shifting, it's a good idea to check the installation and the parts for any signs of wear and tear.
