Part #: DD2016. It's time to give your WRX or STi headlamps a major upgrade! These C - Light LED modules are circuit boards that fit neatly behind the factory diffusing reflector. They shine in an incredibly bright white and a brilliant amber. Unlike other market options, these modules are designed from scratch and made in St. Louis, Missouri, to be the brightest possible. They're compatible with all factory headlamps of WRX Base/Premium, WRX Limited, and STi. The custom - designed LED modules replace the factory bulb or single LED, offering much higher intensity. Thanks to our proprietary high - density 'HDLED' technology, each module has over 500 LED chips coated with a diffusing gel. When on, it gives a perfectly uniform light, and when off, it has a clean, OEM look. Made in the USA, these modules emit a pure 6000K white light, not the cool blue of cheaper products. And the amber light, using modern high - power amber chips, is even brighter than the white! Your order includes two custom - designed drivers for efficient power supply. These drivers feature transient voltage suppression, reverse protection, and a switching driver for long - term reliability. With an embedded microcontroller, they use multi - stage PWM dimming. This allows for half - brightness white for night parking lights and full - power white for daytime DRL. The amber turn signal runs at high power, making it clearly visible in daylight. Note: If you don't have spare butyl sealant, RetroRubber or other butyl sealant is required. You can't reuse the OEM sealant. TRS RetroRubber can be adjusted to fit the headlight casing channel.
Using the Diode Dynamics Switchback LED C - light DRLs is quite straightforward. First, when you get your order, it comes with wiring instructions. Use the included connectors to plug in the parking light connector. You can tap into the turn signal and DRL signals if you want to. In the next few weeks, there'll be a plug - and - play wiring option available. You don't have to use resistors or a new flasher module, which makes things easier. For installation, it's recommended to have a professional do it because you need to open the headlights. But these lamps are not too hard to work with, so you can also watch the upcoming installation video to see how it's done. As for maintenance, since the modules have full waterproofing and shockproofing, they can handle normal wear and tear. However, avoid exposing them to extreme conditions. And remember, if you don't have spare butyl sealant, you must get RetroRubber or other butyl sealant as the OEM sealant can't be reused. This product comes with a 3 - year replacement warranty, so if there are any issues within this period, you can get it replaced.
