Product Information

Part #: 632205CE - 4. Manley, the leading aftermarket Subaru piston company, has introduced a new Turbo Tuff lineup for EJ25 engines. These pistons are crafted from 2618 alloy, featuring an offset wrist - pin design and skirt coating. They come with a standard 2.500' x .180' wall premium chrome moly wrist pin (P/N 42346), and 9310 alloy .210' wall pin upgrades are available. The EXTREME DUTY version comes with 9310 pins (P/N 42546). Each set includes premium steel top rings, Napier style second rings, and higher tension oil rings by Total Seal for excellent oil control, along with round wire locks. Recommended clearances are .003' for mildly boosted engines and .0035' for highly boosted engines, measured at specific distances from the bottom of the oil ring groove. With proven design enhancements from 'Formula - Won' piston forging, these pistons can handle high - boost applications while remaining quiet and trouble - free for daily driving.

Using these Manley pistons in your Subaru WRX or STI EJ257 is straightforward. First, make sure you've chosen the right size and part number according to your engine's boost level. When installing, follow the recommended clearances. For mildly boosted engines, set the clearance at .003', and for highly boosted ones, use .0035'. These measurements should be taken at the specified distances from the bottom of the oil ring groove. As for maintenance, keep an eye on the oil control. The high - tension oil rings are there to help, but regular oil changes are still a must. Check the pistons periodically for any signs of wear, especially if you're using your car in high - performance situations. If you notice any issues, don't hesitate to consult a professional mechanic. And remember, if you want an upgrade, the 9310 alloy wrist pins are available to enhance the performance further.
