This Subtle Solutions intercooler splitter is specially designed for 2008 - 2022 Subaru Impreza STI models. It's a great fit for both stock and some aftermarket TMICs and hoods. The splitter evenly distributes air from the integrated hood scoop over the top of the 'STI' TMIC, boosting intercooler efficiency. It attaches directly to your TMIC using two M8 stock mounting bolts, dividing the incoming air into three equal parts for optimal airflow. Your intercooler works like a radiator, cooling the hot air from the turbocharger before it enters the engine. A steady flow of outside air from the hood scoop is crucial to keep intake temperatures low. Colder air means more power and less detonation. The factory metal splitter in the hood scoop is inefficient, directing air to only about 50% of the intercooler's surface. Our splitter has specially angled fins that rise into the hood scoop, collecting and evenly dispersing air over the entire intercooler surface, significantly improving efficiency, lowering intake temperatures, and increasing power. Using this intercooler splitter is easy. First, locate the two M8 stock mounting bolts on top of your TMIC. Then, simply attach the splitter using these bolts. Make sure it's firmly in place. Avoid using harsh chemicals as they may damage the powder - coated finish.
