It evenly distributes air from the hood scoop over the intercooler, thanks to its special design. The splitter divides the incoming air into three equal sections, enhancing airflow to the intercooler. Your intercooler cools the air from the turbocharger before it enters the engine. A steady flow of outside air from the hood scoop helps keep intake temperatures low. Colder air is denser and can be compressed more effectively, increasing power and reducing detonation. The factory splitter in the hood scoop directs air over only about 50% of the intercooler's surface. Using this intercooler splitter is easy. First, locate the two M8 stock mounting bolts on top of your intercooler. Then, simply mount the splitter directly using these bolts. When driving, the splitter will automatically do its job of evenly distributing air over the intercooler. As for maintenance, a regular check of the mounting bolts to make sure they are tight is recommended. You can clean the splitter with a mild soap and water solution. Avoid using abrasive cleaners as they may damage the powder - coated finish. Also, if you notice any signs of wear or damage, it's a good idea to have it inspected or replaced.
