Product Information

Part #: 15106 - HDC6 - SK. The Clutch Masters 'Big Boy' kit is a game - changer! It's crafted to unleash top - notch performance and smooth engagement in your 2002 - 2005 WRX, without stressing the delicate OEM transmission. With a 242mm (9.5in) clutch housing and a specially designed 9.5LB aluminum flywheel, plus a 2600lb capacity pressure plate (stock is around 1500 lbs, most aftermarket kits are about 2000 lbs), it offers improved clutch disc performance. The larger 9.5in surface area, compared to the stock 9in, boosts daily drivability and often extends disc life. This kit comes with a heavy - duty pressure plate and a 4 - puck ceramic sprung disc for rapid engagement and strong holding power. However, it provides a harsh, aggressive clutch feel. The FX400 is ideal for highly modified 02 - 05 WRXs with limited street use and upgraded gear sets, perfect for road - racing or time attack competition tuners. Torque Capacity: 475+ ft/lbs. Kits include a 9.5LB aluminum flywheel, 2600lb high - clamp pressure plate, performance clutch disc, alignment tool, and all necessary hardware and bearings.

Using this Clutch Masters kit is straightforward. First, make sure your car is parked on a flat surface and the engine is off. Remove the old clutch components carefully and then install the new parts from the kit one by one, following the included alignment tool to ensure proper installation. The alignment tool helps to line up the clutch disc correctly with the flywheel. When driving with this clutch, be aware that it has a harsh and aggressive engagement. This means you need to be a bit more careful when starting from a stop, especially if you're used to a softer clutch. As for maintenance, regularly check the clutch pedal for proper operation. If you notice any unusual noises or a change in the pedal feel, it could be a sign that something needs attention. Also, keep an eye on the clutch fluid level if your car has a hydraulic clutch system. Replace it as recommended in your vehicle's manual to keep the clutch working smoothly. And if you drive your WRX in extreme conditions like road - racing or time attack competitions, it's a good idea to have the clutch inspected more frequently to catch any potential issues early.
